sEASON is excited to announce a two-month, two-part, pop up exhibition in the Chophouse Row building complex, starting with GOLDEN EYEDROPS opening Second Thursday, July 8, at 5pm in Suite D1. Gallery hours will be Thursday to Saturday, 11-7, and by appointment. Chophouse Row is located at 1424 11th Avenue, in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. When entering from 11th Avenue, follow the walkway to the center courtyard, SEASON is the first space on the left past the glass doors. ADA compliant, masks required when indoors.
gOLDEN EYEDROPS features the work of Allison Manch and Seth David Friedman arranged on one large platform in the center of the space. Mixed among them will be works from other gallery artists which will highlight connections among the artworks and bridge various openings to form new conversations. Allison Manch is a textile artist with a photography background, her work often references personal experiences using a variety of traditional and contemporary techniques. Seth David Friedman works at Children’s Hospital, where he has daily interactions with 3D printing processes to replicate patient organs. His carved marble and cast bronze sculptures mimic the body and reference unknown physical and mental interiors.
part two of this endeavor, BLUE ETHER will open on Second Thursday, August 12, and will expand upon these connections and feature the work of Genevieve Gaudreau and Mike Simi. Genevieve Gaudreau’s collages are blurred and difficult to decipher; they provide an entry for nostalgia and memory much in the same way Mike Simi’s drawings and small sculptures encourage awareness of popular past events. All four of the featured artists have strong connections to Seattle, having grown up here and/or lived here for years.
sEASON celebrated 10 years at the end of 2020 and is thankful the everyone at Chophouse Row/Dunn & Hobbs LLC for this opportunity to initiate post pandemic shows at this temporary location. Regular shows at the Ravenna Boulevard address continue in August with the upcoming Seattle Deconstructed Art Fair featuring new paintings by Joshua Thompson.
